jungle times in isolated and remote area

Time for an update!
Hope all of you are well and happy & healthy!
Here I am spending my time in what probably is one of the most isolated places of the world, especially during these special times!!
We are a bit in a crisis here since the Myanmar airway industry is facing a huge crisis... from the two company's that serve Putao there is only 2 planes out of seven still working (at least that is the word, the only news that exists here...). This basically means that airplanes hardly come up here and that the airlines give preference on flying the bigger hubs in the country.
No flights mean … no guests and no provisions...
On top of that our travel permits up here are very restricted and we are only allowed to move in two villages and have to be accompanied by locals and warn authorities about our moves...
So not the best conditions up here... and if things dont get better soon it might mean an early exit for us (if we can get a plane at least ... hahaha)...
The next few weeks will tell what comes... if things get better and guests can reach (and leave) the lodge can survive, otherwise...
Let me skip to some more details about what is actually happening, instead of not happening... :
A few weeks back we had a minor cyclone passing by in the night... our hut was shaking and i felt like in a ship on a stormy ocean... wind sucking our windows open, water hosing in from all sides, huge cracks and noises around...
The worst part past in an hour or so and the next morning everything was quiet... but it was destruction all over... fences gone, trees rootless, minor landslides, ...
By 8 am the villagers were already repairing things and collecting the firewood from the unrooted trees spread all over the village... jungle style: take what you can take... haha
After storm damage repair in the nursery we started construction of irrigated terraces on the sunny slope of the nursery... trying to bring in use an unused stretch of land in poor soil condition... and after that the construction of a bamboo greenhouse to grow some species that are difficult to grow in this area. In the mean time I was trying to keep my spa staff in a healthy practice routine during my absences...
Now the construction works in the nursery are coming to an end and we can plant for the coming winter...
Last week after three days of rainy weather and after all cleared we saw the first snow on the mountain peaks around us... winter on its way and the mornings are starting to be really cold... morning mists hanging in the valley...
For the time coming, finish the planting in the nursery and get back to my SPA with yoga and massage.
